I remember the first time I ever heard of Nirvana was actually the first time I ever saw the video on MTV. I was definitely intrigued by this very different song and video from what else was out there. It's such a tragedy that his life and career were both cut so short.Keithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14832710800680256206noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32134713.post-53828130500073629772009-04-11T12:06:00.000-04:002009-04-11T12:06:00.000-04:00Nicely done. The experience of hearing Nevermind for the first time is etched in stone like it was yesterday. It was in my college dorm room, and I can clearly remember playing the first 5 songs on the album over and over. As if they were on some imaginary loop. Its power remains astonishing and undiminished by time. And for me personally, In Utero even more so.
Nirvana ushered in the modern day version of the classic rock trifecta that followed.
Alice In Chains (who actually broke BEFORE Nirvana), Soundgarden and Pearl Jam have more metal and classic rock in them than they ever get credit for.
Kurt's void to this day has yet to be filled. But as Ben says, for that that moment in time in the mid 90's it seemed like anything was possible musically. In Bloom indeed.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32134713.post-86096027932384368612009-04-08T19:50:00.000-04:002009-04-08T19:50:00.000-04:00Powerful post. I never understood the "hype" or the power of his influence, but I see it very clearly now.

Thank you for sharing.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32134713.post-6156447494694173392009-04-08T15:20:00.000-04:002009-04-08T15:20:00.000-04:00Hi againA very well written and emotional article....Hi again

A very well written and emotional article.

Kurt Cobain's death was a tragedy for so many reasons.

I remember when 'Teen Spirit' came out and then all the popularity.

Thank you for sharing

Amberambersunhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05582546511382184025noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32134713.post-17059201186466250592009-04-08T14:22:00.000-04:002009-04-08T14:22:00.000-04:00Thanks for sharing your experience Ben.
